According to its structure, it can be divided into two types: monomer tank and integral tank. The single plastic tank is mainly used for fixed and traction batteries. The integral tank is mainly automobile type and medium and small valve-regulated batteries. ABS plastic is easy to injection mould and has simple process. The most common problem is warpage, followed by confluence marks, decomposition materials, etc. Warpage is mainly due to the high mold temperature, or the too short cooling time of products such as plastic grooves in the mold; confluence marks are usually caused by poor mold exhaust, low mold temperature, and low injection pressure; decomposition materials are mainly caused by The processing temperature is too high, the injection pressure is too high, and the recycled material is reused too many times. In addition, the ABS battery tank still has defects such as insufficient injection volume, lack of meat, burrs, flashing, bleaching, corrugation, silver wire, bubbles, burns, color mixing, cracks, holes, etc. These defects are directly related to the process conditions such as injection temperature, pressure, speed, and time during the processing, and affect the appearance quality of the lead-acid battery tank.

Impact resistance
At a certain temperature, whether the battery cell is impacted by a certain external force or not cracks indicates its impact resistance. The impact resistance of the battery tank needs to be investigated in two conditions: normal temperature and low temperature. ABS resin material has high impact strength, and does not drop rapidly at low temperatures. Its impact resistance is related to the amount of rubber contained in the resin, particle size, grafting rate and dispersion state, and also related to the use environment , Such as the higher the temperature, the greater the impact strength. The good impact resistance of ABS resin materials can basically be attributed to the fact that rubber particles absorb external impact energy and inhibit the development of cracking. Through room temperature tests on ABS battery tanks of several companies in the United States and Japan, it is proved that ordinary materials have good impact resistance. Flame-retardant materials, due to the difference in the structure of the battery tank, products with different structures made of the same material have poor impact resistance and occasional cracks. If this battery tank is used to produce batteries, it is easy to cause problems such as leakage. Therefore, the impact resistance of ABS resin material has a very important safety function. In addition, the occurrence of the crack of the battery tank and the test temperature, the shape and structure of the tank body and the drop position have a great influence, so the impact test must be 24h after injection molding, and the temperature must be maintained at 25±2℃ before inspection. It can be carried out after time, and the holding time is different for different wall thicknesses. There are different standards for the drop ball height and the quality of the lead-acid battery tanks of different uses and varieties.

Acid resistance
The lead-acid battery tank is eroded by sulfuric acid solution at a certain temperature and within a period of time, and its appearance may change due to the erosion. Whether it swells, cracks, or discolors is used to indicate acid resistance. ABS resin material has almost no effect on water, inorganic salts, alkalis and acids. It will dissolve in ketones, aldehydes and esters or form a milky state. Insoluble in most alcohols and hydrocarbon solvents. Normal temperature and high temperature tests were performed on the ABS battery tanks used, including common materials and flame retardant materials from different manufacturers in the United States and Japan. After the specified test time, no discoloration, cracks and swelling occurred. In the process of liquid injection and charging, the battery temperature is relatively high, and the battery tank must have high corrosion resistance to improve its safety. The plastic tank with good corrosion resistance at normal temperature has cracked and peeled off at high temperature, which seriously affects the appearance and safety of the battery. Therefore, when choosing ABS battery tank resin materials, we must fully consider its acid resistance.
